We are looking for an experienced **Project Engineering Manager** to take a leading role in one of Europe's most ambitious renewable energy infrastructure programs. You will be responsible for the offshore scope of a large-scale 2GW HVDC project in Germany - part of a portfolio of multi-year EPC projects valued at over $1B.

**Key Responsibilities**
+ Issue and consolidate the project drawing list (or related work packages) and integrate it into the design schedule.
+ Manage the overall engineering schedule; align engineering with procurement, construction, and commissioning; organize follow‑up.
+ Plan and manage delivery timelines for technical interfaces; implement exchange interface sheets with partners, customers, and third‑party contractors.

About The Role
The Area Monitoring (AM) Signals and Markers team is looking for a Software Engineering Manager, passionate about leading engineers in building the next generation of agricultural and environmental monitoring systems. Our platform began as a solution for the European Union's Common Agricultural Policy (CAP)—a collection of web applications, APIs, and data services for monitoring agriculture with satellite imagery.
While this remains a core commitment, our vision is expanding. We are evolving the platform into a more generic, scalable, and reusable system to create a robust foundation for future area monitoring solutions and products. The Process Engineering Superintendent provides process engineering and optimization support to the refinery via technical leadership to a team of process engineers. The role also ensures that technical resources are allocated and prioritized appropriately.

Provide Support to Current Operations:
- Manage process changes required to accommodate process equipment maintenance

What you'll need to be successful:
- Bachelor's Degree (preferably Masters Degree) or equivalent experience in Chemical Engineering required.
- Demonstrated ability to work in multi-functional teams with excellent interpersonal communication skills.
- 10 years of proven experience in a refining or manufacturing environment preferred.
- The ability to deliver technical solutions that improve on stream availability eliminates failures and optimizes the refinery's assets.
- Recognized technical expertise in a refining process technology area or unit operations.
- Understanding of the manufacturing process including economics, commercial awareness, optimization opportunity identification and proper use of technology
- Experience managing technical engineering teams in a refinery or chemical plant preferred.

Hitachi Energy is seeking a Project Manager Engineering to join our Grid Integration business in Rotterdam. In this hands-on role, you will lead and coordinate all engineering activities across tenders and execution phases for high- and medium-voltage substation projects. DE POSITIE
Bij Van Oord werken we aan complexe integrale projecten voor de duurzame en toekomstbestendige infrastructuur van morgen. Voor ons is daarbij systems engineering, BIM en procesmanagement een onmisbaar onderdeel van het kwaliteitsmanagementsysteem. Als Process & Information Engineering Specialist zorg jij voor een heldere basis, zodat de projectteams informatie effectief kunnen vastleggen en overdragen. Je geeft richting aan goed geïntegreerde werkprocessen. Als 'vakbaas' beheer jij de standaard voor heel Van Oord en begeleidt jij als Process & Information Engineering Specialist de meer junior collega's in dit vakgebied, zowel in Dredging & Infra als Offshore Energy projecten. Je bent een 'thought leader' die zorgt voor draagvlak voor Systems Engineering, proces- en informatiemanagement in de bredere organisatie.
JOUW IMPACT
Wat ga je doen als Process & Information Engineering Specialist ? Als Senior Procesmanager en/of Systems Engineer ben jij direct betrokken bij tenders, ontwerp en realisatie van grootschalige infrastructuur projecten. Tegelijkertijd besteed jij een deel van je tijd aan de ontwikkeling van het vakgebied over de hele breedte van Van Oord. Jij richt de aanpak voor systems engineering en BIM efficiënt en effectief in en beheerd de standaarden.
Verder zal je betrokken zijn bij het opstellen van verificatie en validatie strategien, en reviewen en begeleiden van collega's.
Kortom, een rol met impact omdat jij in de projecten een centrale rol speelt voor een gestructureerde aanpak tussen verschillende disciplines en binnen onze organisatie om een uniforme werkwijze vorm te geven
JOUW WERKPLEK
In deze functie werk je drie a vier dagen per week werk mee als Senior Procesmanager in een integraal Project Management Team van een project of meerdere projecten. Tegelijk ben jij de kennishouder met betrekking tot Systems Engineering, BIM en procesmanagement bij Van Oord. Hier besteed je gemiddeld één dag per week aan waarin je de standaarden voor de vakgroep neer zet en inhoudelijk begeleiding aan junior collega's biedt.
Wat je baan extra mooi maakt, is dat je door middel van kennisontwikkeling en opleiding, junior collega's binnen de afdeling helpt groeien in het vak. En je geeft leiding aan de kennisontwikkeling binnen systems engineering en informatiemanagement binnen Van Oord. Hierin werk je met senior collega's aan de doorontwikkeling van zowel processen als tools voor systems engineering over alle Productlijnen van Van Oord. Je werkzaamheden vinden standaard plaats in Rotterdam maar ook in Gorinchem en op project locatie.
OVER JOU
Als Process & Information Engineering Specialistzorg jij voor het creëren van verbinding in grote projectteams. Samen via overzichtelijke gestructureerde processen impact maken voor een duurzamere leefomgeving en het coachen en begeleiden van jongere collega's. Daar krijg jij energie van. Je kunt het belang van een project goed doorgronden en hebt snel inzicht in wie jou van de juiste informatie kan voorzien. Met overtuigingskracht weet je systems engineering goed in te bedden in de projectorganisatie en zowel je collega's als de opdrachtgever daarin mee te nemen. Je bent in staat om de vertaling te maken van de pure systems engineering aanpak naar een divers portfolio van projecten met een gerichte en pragmatische aanpak.
Verder heb je
- Een hbo- of wo-diploma in bijvoorbeeld civiele techniek, civil engineering en management of industriële engineering en management.
- Minimaal 10 jaar ervaring in systems engineering en/of procesmanagement in infrastructuur projecten.
- Uitgebreide ervaring met software oplossingen als Relatics e.d.
- Goede beheersing van zowel de Nederlandse als de Engelse taal.

Your Day-to-Day: 24/7 Operations, Resilience & Insights

What You Bring (and What What You'll Grow Into)
- 12–15+ years in IT operations or SRE, including
9+ years in a telecom environment
(required) - Deep, hands-on experience with OSS/BSS systems, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), and automation tooling
- Familiarity with GenAI, ML, and observability platforms (e.g. Prometheus, Grafana, ELK)
- Confident leading technical teams under pressure, especially in incident response and stakeholder escalations

About The Role
You'll help drive digital innovation by:
- Writing software/scripts to automate operations on our platform, reducing support requests and engineering time.
- Solving operational issues for our customers, by both investigating technically and liaising between Mendix Support (1st line) and other development teams in R&D.
- Providing out of hours support for critical customer issues on an on-call basis.
- Creating and maintaining monitoring & alerting systems to provide real-time visibility into the performance and availability of the platform (SRE).
- Developing and maintaining dashboards & reports to track key performance indicators and identify trends and issues.
You're The Innovator We Need If
- You have experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
- You have coding skills, ideally in Python; it's a plus if you also have experience with Golang.
- You have good knowledge of infrastructure (AWS).
- You have experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform or OpenTofu.
- You have strong experience with containerization technologies, primarily Kubernetes.
- You're comfortable writing a Python script to automate complex tasks to reduce manual effort.
- You have excellent communication and people skills, both written and verbal.
- You have the ability to spearhead, manage and explain complex technical issues and reduce them to a form that less technical customers & colleagues can understand.
- A deep understanding of Cloud architecture/deployment and infrastructure services like web servers, load balancing, SSL/TLS/X509, etc.
- You have experience with monitoring and logging tools such as CloudWatch, ELK, Grafana, Datadog or Prometheus.
- We use Datadog, Prometheus, CloudWatch, PagerDuty and Grafana internally, but experience with other tools such as Splunk or New Relic is welcome too.
- You have proven experience administering, developing against, or architecting on a cloud platform. AWS is the platform we use, but experience on GCP or Azure is OK too.
- You have strong experience with containers and Linux/Unix systems.
- You are familiar with SQL/databases (we primarily use PostgreSQL).
- A passion for investigating complex issues and finding out the solution in a platform with many distributed applications.

- You have experience with the Mendix low-code platform
