Job position: Front-End Developer at StudyPortals (Eindhoven) Description To support StudyPortals’ global expansion, we are significantly expanding our development team. The team currently consists of Front- and Back-End Developers as well as UX Designers, split over four scrum teams. You will work in a multidisciplinary scrum team of about five people, taking input from our graphic designers, UX Designers, and our Student- and University Value teams to realize the best implementations possible.
On a typical day, you will start with your scrum team, discussing your progress and plans for the day. You will work on your stories and tasks (Scrum methodology) and discuss with your team members whenever you need help. There is always room for sharing new ideas. You will test your work via the device lab and make changes when necessary.
Key responsibilities include:
- Writing valid, semantically correct HTML5 and CSS3.
- Adopting a mobile-first, responsive approach to web development.
- Visualizing ideas using graphical tools (such as Photoshop or Illustrator) or pen and paper prototypes.
- Staying informed of the rapidly changing online landscape, with interest in technologies like Sass, Flexbox, Gulp, and Handlebars.
- Collaborating with team members and maintaining open communication.
Minimum Requirements:
- At least a Bachelor’s degree, typically one combining aspects from Computer Science and Interaction Design.
- Fluency in English, both oral and written, with excellent communication skills.
- Ambition, energy, and an entrepreneurial drive; ability to work well independently and in a team.
- A full-time, 40 hours/week position.
